It Started With a Sunshirt
If you were to sit me down three years ago and ask me what I thought my life would look like in the next three years, I definitely would not have mentioned anything about owning a clothing brand—or even being involved in the fashion space.
The brand was born the day I stood in a tack shop looking for a new shirt and couldn’t believe the prices I was seeing as a self-funded equestrian. I figured, “There is no way these are that expensive to make,” and began the process of creating a small order of my own for myself and some friends.
One of the first things that made me realize this was going to be more than a side gig was the day I received my first round of shirts. After almost six months of planning and designing, people I didn’t even know began asking about restocks, sizing, and what was coming next. Support from my new customers, in addition to that of my friends and family, turned this whole idea into an opportunity to create a community.
I also quickly realized how much goes into building something like this. Every detail mattered more than I expected—from fabric and fit to pricing things in a way that felt fair, especially for riders like me who are doing this on a budget. While I am now able to offer some more bespoke items in addition to a more lifestyle-driven clothing line, I will always continue to offer the pieces that brought me so much joy in the first place.
So when you see a green sunshirt as the centerpiece of many of our pop-ups, know that it is the beginning of something that chose me.
